Al Pacino Coming To Durham For One Night Only Event

DURHAM - One of the best known and respected actors in American cinema will be speaking to an audience in Durham for one night only in May.

 

Al Pacino will be visiting the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) on Friday, May 20th, 2011 for one night only.

 

According to promoters, Pacino will be sharing “his passion for acting and directing with film clips, including some never before seen footage... sharing backstage tales from a lifetime in the world of theatre & film, Pacino will reveal the inner workings of his most personal work and will end with a question and answer session with the audience.”

 

The evening will have a two part set that will include a moderated creative process interview during the first half. The second half includes a one-man show where Pacino embodies some of the most memorable characters from his career.

 

Tickets go on sale to the public beginning April 15th at 10am and can be purchased online at DPACnc.com or by phone at 919.680.2787 or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000

 

Tickets start at $75 plus service charges.  Friends of DPAC members may place their orders starting on Wednesday, April 13th.

Al Pacino has created some of the most unforgettable character portrayals in cinematic history. Starring in over forty films that include The Godfather Trilogy, Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface, Serpico, Sea of Love, Dick Tracy, Heat, and Scent of a Woman.

 

Pacino is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner for his performance in “Angels in America” and most recently “You Don’t Know Jack for HBO.”  He is also an eight-time Academy Award nominee and Tony and Oscar award winner.
