NY Giants Hall Of Famer Helps After Helmet Stolen From Cancer Charity

NEW JERSEY - Former New York Giants great and NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson went out of his way to replace a helmet that was stolen a few weeks ago that was supposed to be auctioned off at a fundraising event for a children’s cancer.

No one had the heart to tell Harry the night of the charity auction that one of the helmets that was to be auctioned off was stolen but “Real Housewives” star Kim Granatell blogged about it.

Apparently Harry read her blog and decided to make things right by generously offering to give the charity even more items to auction off.

Harry and his wife, Maribel, are both incredibly gracious people. Harry is even offering to hand deliver the new helmet to the winning bidder, which is being auctioned online.

I met up with Harry at the local Dunkin Donuts in our town, and he kindly brought replacement for the missing helmets from the charity event -- he not only brought one autographed New York Giants helmet, he brought two!

It’s evident that this former linebacker also has a big heart and wants to help out the children in his community through his generous efforts.

The new auction for the autographed New York Giants Throw Back helmet has already started on Charitybuzz.com and bidding has already reached $500.  You can view the auction online here at CharityBuzz:

The online auction ends on March 30th.

All funds raised go to the Emmanuel Cancer Fund which raises emergency money for New Jersey children with cancer and their families.   ::
