High Speed Railroad Meeting Will Be Held In Raleigh On July 12th

RALEIGH -
The meeting will be held in room 150 of the NCDOT headquarters at 1 S. Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh.
According to the NC DOT, this initial public meeting the members of the compact will be sworn in, officers will be elected and procedures to conduct business will be adopted.

The project examines the feasibility of a high speed rail system that would run from Washington DC to Charlotte and would pass through Raleigh.
Later stages of the rail system could include Atlanta, Savannah, and Jacksonville, Florida.
Public comments are currently being accepted on the Tier II Environmental Impact Statement for this initiative at www.sehsr.org.
