Kennedy Theatre Hosts Season Kick-Off Party In Raleigh

RALEIGH - The Kennedy Theatre at the Progress Energy Center in downtown Raleigh held its “Hot Summer Nights At The Kennedy Theatre” kickoff party last Saturday night, June 12th.

The event, held on the rooftop of the Solas Restaurant on Glenwood, hosted friends of the theater, producers, sponsors, and actors to mark the kickoff of the theater’s summer season.

The Kennedy Theatre seats approximately 120 patrons. Its “Hot Summer Nights at The Kennedy” series began in the summer of 2005 in an effort to bring a smaller and more intimate professional theatre to downtown Raleigh.

Special guests at the kickoff event included the theater’s patrons Mr. and Mrs. K.D. Kennedy. Jr. and members of their family.

Producers present included Tony-nominated New York actor Alan Campbell, Broadway actress Lauren Kennedy, actress Hilary Russo, Andrea Twiss, and Adam Twiss.

Other guests included the Porazzos of Synergy Spa, James Grosslight of BioMedical Devices, and many others.

This summer’s season includes the following productions:

--Barefoot in the Park (June 9-20)

--The Great American Trailer Park Musical (June 30-July 11)

--Death and the Maiden (July 28-August 8)

--Tell Me on a Sunday, starring Broadway's Lauren Kennedy (August 18-August 29)

All shows run from Wednesday through Saturday each week at 8:00pm and on Sundays at 3:00pm.
