Raleigh Telegram Featured In Editor & Publisher Magazine

RALEIGH - The Raleigh Telegram newspaper was recently featured in Editor & Publisher Magazine’s online edition.

Editor & Publisher is the well-respected leader in covering the newspaper industry and calls itself “ "America's Oldest Journal Covering the Newspaper Industry,” as it was founded in 1901.

The online article entitled “Online-Only N.C. Newspaper Embeds in Haiti” that was published on February 10th mentioned the Raleigh Telegram’s recent efforts to cover the Haiti earthquake. The Telegram stories focused on the role that North Carolina-based troops have in recovery efforts.

The Telegram embedded its editor Randall Gregg in with the soldiers from the 82nd Airborne units from Fort Bragg, North Carolina for over a week in Port au Prince, Haiti.

“The experience showed me how important a role the United States military played in the humanitarian aid missions in Haiti,” said Gregg. “When you see their efforts firsthand, you get a new appreciation for all of the hard work that our men and women in uniform do every day around the globe.”

The Haiti coverage was posted online in a special edition of Telegram with over 20 stories, 200 photos, and several videos:

According to the editor, The Raleigh Telegram shared its Haiti stories at no charge with other newspapers in North Carolina.

Articles from the Telegram’s Haiti coverage are appearing in the print editions of the Sanford Herald daily newspaper as well as the 40,000 circulation Yes! Weekly newspaper in Greensboro.
