According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim in the case was Anthony Jaboin, age 24 at the time.
Phyllis Stephens of the Sheriff’s Office said that Jaboin was shot to death in the parking lot of West Lake Elementary school at 4499 West Lae Road in Apex on Saturday, September 11, 1999 at 3:40pm.
Charged in the case are two brothers, William Otis Bryant and Eric Reney Bryant. Each of the men have been charged with first degree murder in the case and are being held in the Wake County Jail without bond.
Stephens said she could not comment on a possible motive for the murder of Jaboin in the case, as it was still under investigation.
The victim was a cab driver and although robberies of taxi cab drivers are common, according to media reports at the time of the murder, Jaboin’s money was not taken during the incident.
